Getting started
Allow camera access, choose a capture rule and tap Start auto take. VlogMatic saves the recorded moments together when you finish. The recording guide explains your first take, the four detection rules, timelapse and sharing.
It records too much, or misses activity
Check the capture rule first. In Face or Either mode, a stationary face deliberately keeps recording active. In Motion mode, camera movement, shadows or movement in the background can trigger recording.
Place the phone on a steady support, check the light and adjust motion sensitivity in Settings. A shorter pause delay keeps less footage after activity stops; a longer delay preserves more of each moment.
Detection is not frame-perfect. Small or obscured faces and low light can make detection less reliable, and there is no pre-roll buffer. Test a short take before recording something important.
My video has no sound
Check the microphone control and the app’s microphone permission in Android settings. You can record with the microphone deliberately off. Timelapse is always silent, and your normal-video microphone preference is retained for when you leave timelapse mode.
Where are my saved videos?
Open Clips in VlogMatic or look in Movies/VlogMatic using your gallery or file manager. Android gallery indexing can take a little time. A take must be finished and saved before it appears as a completed video.
Sharing uses the original file. Other video players may not show VlogMatic’s moment markers. Deleting a video from the Android app removes that video from the phone; shared or backed-up copies are managed separately.
I can’t select 4K, HDR or a particular camera
Available formats depend on the selected camera, the phone’s hardware and its camera software. A phone that supports a feature in its built-in camera app may not expose it to other apps. VlogMatic offers the combinations it can use for the selected camera.
Finish the current take before changing cameras or recording profiles. If a previously selected format is no longer available, select a supported replacement.
Purchases and billing
Google Play handles Android payments. Check the purchase options and price shown in the app and in your region’s Google Play listing. If your app version offers Restore purchase, use the same Google account that made the purchase.
For a purchase issue, email support with your app version and a description of what happened. Do not send payment-card details or account passwords. Google Play’s refund guidance explains its refund process.
iPhone and iPad
The iOS app has not been published yet. We’ll add the App Store download link to the homepage when it becomes available. Existing iOS support and privacy information is available at iOS support and iOS privacy.
