Privacy policy
Updated 29 October 2026
EllanTech Limited publishes VlogMatic for iPhone and iPad (bundle
identifier im.vlogmatic). This policy covers that app, its
support and privacy pages, and support enquiries. It is separate from
the Android app's policy.
Questions or requests: vlogmatic-support@ellantech.com.
Camera, microphone and detection
With camera permission, VlogMatic uses camera frames for live preview, local face and motion detection, and video recording. Face detection uses Apple's Vision framework to check whether a face is present. It does not identify a person or create a face-recognition profile. Motion detection analyses changes in the image.
Analysis happens on your device. Analysis frames are processed temporarily; selected footage is written to your video while recording. When pre-roll is enabled, the app also buffers up to the selected duration of recent footage, with audio when enabled, so that the start of an activity can be included. EllanTech Limited does not receive camera frames, face detections, pre-roll buffers or recordings from the app.
Microphone access is optional and adds sound only when you enable audio and grant permission. Declining access allows silent recording. Time-lapse has no audio. You can change permissions in the device's Settings app.
Recordings, metadata and settings
Original recordings are stored in VlogMatic's private app storage. Videos may include audio, recording dates, camera and format information, and markers for captured moments. Moment markers describe the video timeline, not a person's identity. The app reads saved recordings to display thumbnails, play videos and navigate moments.
VlogMatic also keeps local preferences and recovery information for interrupted takes. It checks available storage and battery level to warn about low resources and, when configured, stop recording. It does not send these settings or observations to EllanTech Limited.
Photos, iCloud and device backups
With your permission to add videos to Photos, VlogMatic can save copies of completed recordings to your photo library. Automatic saving can be disabled in the app's Settings. If Photos saving is denied or fails, the original remains in Clips.
Photos copies are managed by Apple's Photos app. If you enable iCloud Photos or another service that accesses your photo library, those services may upload or process copies under their own settings and policies. Device backup or transfer services may include app data according to your device settings and the service's rules. EllanTech Limited does not operate those services.
Sharing
When you choose Share, iOS or iPadOS provides the original video to the app or destination you select. The video includes its recorded content and embedded metadata. The recipient may upload or process it under its own policy. VlogMatic does not automatically share videos with EllanTech Limited.
Recording trial and purchases
VlogMatic keeps a local trial counter and identifiers for up to three qualifying clips in private app preferences. Deleting clips or restoring recording defaults does not reset this counter. This information is not sent to EllanTech Limited.
Apple handles payment for the one-time VlogMatic Pro unlock through the App Store. The app uses StoreKit to read and verify purchase transactions, restore access, and respond to approvals and refunds. EllanTech Limited does not receive your payment-card details or operate a purchase-verification server. Apple processes purchases under its own terms and privacy policy.
Accounts, advertising and analytics
The app has no account system, advertising SDK, tracking or analytics service. It does not require a server connection or model download for face and motion detection. These statements describe the app; Apple's device, App Store, Photos and backup services operate under Apple's own terms and settings.
Retention and deletion
Recordings stay in Clips until you delete them. Deleting an original in VlogMatic leaves any Photos, shared or backed-up copies in place. Delete those copies separately in the relevant service. Uninstalling the app removes its private local recordings and settings, but does not remove Photos copies. Interrupted recordings may leave recovery files in app storage. Restore defaults resets recording settings; it does not delete completed clips.
You can withdraw camera, microphone or Photos permission in the device's Settings app. Camera permission is required for preview and recording. Protect your device and choose carefully where you share videos.

Website
These static pages use Google Firebase Hosting. They contain no advertising, analytics scripts, external fonts or tracking cookies. The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and access logs, to deliver and secure the pages. The website does not receive recordings or detection data from the app. Your selected light or dark appearance is stored only in this browser so it can be remembered between visits; choosing System removes that saved choice. This preference is not sent to EllanTech Limited.
